Dr. Jared Chen is a fellowship-trained cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex disorders affecting the blood vessels of the brain and spine. He provides both minimally invasive endovascular therapies and open microsurgical treatments for conditions including stroke, brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs), carotid artery disease, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, venous sinus stenosis, and other cerebrovascular disorders.

Dr. Chen earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his neurological surgery residency at the University of Virginia, where he completed advanced training in neuroendovascular surgery. During his residency, he also completed a cerebrovascular surgery fellowship at Auckland City Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. After residency, he completed advanced fellowship training in neuroendovascular surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, and neurocritical care at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Chen has a strong interest in clinical research and outcomes-based studies focused on cerebrovascular disease. His research has investigated stroke, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, intracerebral hemorrhage, carotid artery disease, cerebral vasospasm, cavernous malformations, and other neurovascular conditions. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed scientific publications in leading journals, including Stroke, Neurology, Journal of Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery, and Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry.

His academic contributions have been recognized with numerous national awards, including the John A. Jane Sr. Excellence in Research Award, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Best Clinical Research Award in Cerebrovascular Surgery, the Galbraith Award, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Cerebrovascular Section Best Clinical Scientific Paper Award.
