Elkhorn Athletic Association and MD West ONE Announce Partnership

MD West ONE to have naming rights of Destination Sports Complex

ELKHORN, NE, May 4, 2021 – Elkhorn Athletic Association (EAA) and MD West ONE today announced the two organizations have entered into a partnership agreement that gives MD West ONE exclusive naming rights to the outdoor sports complex planned in Western Douglas County. The partnership marks an important milestone in the development of a destination youth sports complex that will benefit its surrounding communities, youth and their families from across the region.

“We are extremely pleased to partner with MD West ONE, which is a leader in the sports medicine field and in our community,” said Jason McDonald, EAA’s Chairman of the Board. “This agreement moves us one step closer to realizing the vision for a state-of-the-art youth sports complex that will have a significant impact on the area’s economy and provide opportunities for athletes and families from sports organizations across the region to have access to these much-needed facilities.”

“The physicians of MD West ONE are honored to support a complex of this magnitude. We believe in the development of these young athletes and will always be a proponent of staying active and engaging in healthy competition through sports. Being able to give back to our communities’ youth is what this partnership is all about and we’re grateful the new MD West ONE Sports Complex will be able to serve more Omaha metro area families,” said Dr. David Buck, Sports Medicine Specialist at MD West ONE.

The partnership is a 12-year agreement with an option for a 10-year extension renewal. The MD West ONE Sports Complex will be located on 142 acres of land in Valley, NE located near 264th and Ida Streets, allowing for convenient access just off Highway 275. Phase 1 of the project, estimated at $23 million, will include eight turfed baseball/softball fields, four turfed soccer fields, a barrier-free field and infrastructure development of concession stands, restrooms facilities, parking for up to 1,500 vehicles and the civil engineering. Future phases will include additional multi-purpose fields and 8 more softball/baseball fields. The MD West ONE Sports Complex will also provide space for a wide range of year-round activities for individuals and families, such as walking paths, playgrounds, and picnic areas. EAA recently closed on the land purchase, which is being financed by Pinnacle Bank. The goal is to open the initial fields in the fall of 2022 for football and soccer, then baseball and softball in the spring of 2023.
