Physician Assistant at our Urgent Care Clinic

Shaun Horak is a Physician Assistant at MD West One and works primarily in the Urgent Care Clinic. He joined MD West One during the merger of Methodist Physicians Clinic and MD West One in 2020.

Shaun was born and raised in Lincoln, NE. Following high school, he attended and graduated from Hastings College with a dual degree in Biology and Psychology. Shaun’s professional career started as a student by attending the University of Nebraska Medical Center PA Program. His most recent educational completion is his Doctoral in Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg.

After 13 years of full-time clinical work, Shaun entered the academic realm as a full-time faculty member with UNMC. His contributions to the profession have extended beyond the clinic and classroom. Shaun is a sitting board member for the Nebraska Academy of Physician Assistants and the Nebraska Coalition for Patient Safety.

Shaun is a husband and father of three children: two girls and one boy. PA Horak reports: “while his satisfaction with his contributions to MD West One and the University are reasonable, his contributions to his family and community bring him the greatest joy in life.” He is involved in his church, neighborhood governance, and numerous athletic associations, where he has the privilege of coaching his children.
